IndustrialCanvasInstanceSpace is required to set up and use Canvas. The capabilities in Set up labels are for the labels feature.
Set up labels
The first time you set up labels, assign these capabilities:1
Set data model capability for labels
Navigate to Admin > Access management > Groups. Set
datamodels:write with scope SolutionTagsInstanceSpace so CDF can create the labels instance space when you select Set up labels.2
Create labels instance space
Navigate to Flows > Canvas and select Set up labels.
This creates the labels instance space if it doesn’t already exist.

Set data model instance capabilities
After setup, go back to Groups. Set
datamodelinstances:read and datamodelinstances:write with scope SolutionTagsInstanceSpace to create, edit, and delete labels.Create, edit, and delete labels

Open label management
Navigate to Flows > Canvas and select Manage labels.

Create or modify labels
Select Create label to create labels and edit or delete existing labels.
Assign or remove labels from a canvas
After you create labels, you can assign them to a canvas.1
Open canvas settings
Open a canvas and select the arrow next to the canvas name.

End users needdatamodelinstances:read and datamodelinstances:write scoped to IndustrialCanvasInstanceSpace and CommentInstanceSpace to access and use Canvas. See Canvas capabilities.

Set data model instance capability
Set
datamodelinstances:read and datamodelinstances:write with scope SolutionTagsInstanceSpace. read lets users view labels. write lets them add and remove labels from a canvas. If read is set and write is not set, users can view labels but cannot change them.write can assign or remove labels the same way. See Labels.
