For API and SDK release channels, refer to the API changelog and the SDK and toolkit documentation. API versioning uses its own channel names (stable, beta, and alpha bundles); those channels describe how API operations are published and don’t map one-to-one to product release states below. Release states

We describe Cognite Data Fusion products and functionality using release states. Release states are what we use in contracts, customer communications, and release notes.

Production

The product or functionality is generally offered as part of Cognite Data Fusion (CDF) and is covered by our Service Level Agreement (SLA). We’ll give you a deprecation notice at least twelve (12) months before we retire something that is in production.

Public preview

The product or functionality is available broadly but is not production yet. It may change or be withdrawn. We’ll give you a deprecation notice at least two (2) months before we retire it.

Private preview

The product or functionality is available only to selected customers. It may change or be withdrawn. We’ll give you a deprecation notice at least two (2) months before we retire it. Private preview may be coordinated through programs such as a group on Cognite Hub.

Deprecated

The product or functionality is headed for removal. See Deprecated and retired features for timelines and migration guidance.
