- Who it covers: Individual builders who demonstrate proficiency by submitting a compliant Flows custom app
- What it covers: Authorization to build with Flows custom apps in customer environments, subject to app-level certification for production deployments
- Validity: Six months from the date your submitted app passes review
How to get certified
Attend a builder certification session
Join an upskilling session. Attendance alone does not certify you, but you’ll get everything needed to complete the process.

Complete self-assessment checklists
Complete the self-assessment using the Cognite Flows custom apps quality guidelines, including both engineering requirements and the 10-question design assessment to verify your app meets all certification requirements before submitting. Target score: 3.8+ on design quality assessment.
Once the application is reviewed and you receive your builder certification, you can start building Flows custom apps across customer projects.
