This article details the language models available in Atlas AI. Choose the right model based on your specific requirements for speed, quality, and context length. The availability of language models depends on your preferred cloud vendor and the location of your Cognite Data Fusion (CDF) project. Cognite continuously refreshes language models with newer and more capable models for building agents. As part of this process, we retire older models. We use these terms to describe lifecycle stages and important dates for language models available in Atlas AI:
  • Stable model: A released model version supported for production use. Stable models include a retirement date when Cognite Atlas AI will no longer support them.
    • Latest stable model: The most current version within the model family, recommended for new agents or agents in development. Use this model when migrating from older versions.
    • Legacy stable model: An older model version that the latest stable model has replaced. While we still support legacy models, migrate to the latest model to access new features and improvements.
  • Recommended upgrade: The latest stable model to migrate to for improved performance and additional features.
  • Retired model: A model version that Atlas AI has permanently deactivated after reaching its retirement date. Atlas AI no longer supports retired models. If you don’t migrate agents using retired models before the retirement date, they automatically upgrade to the latest stable model.
