Explore data
Use the Data explorer as the starting point of your workflow to find the data you need. Browse through all available resource types, then drill into details and connected resources, such as assets and time series with live data, interactive engineering diagrams, 3D models, and mapped events. You can also view the results in Charts and Canvas.
Get started
-
Navigate to Data management > Data explorer.
-
Search for name, description, content, metadata values, ID, external ID, event type and subtype, units, documents, etc.
TippSelect Search configuration next to the search bar to fine-tune your search.
The search results are sorted into tabs according to their resource types. When selecting a resource type, you can continue fine-tuning your results using the left-side panel.
Explore the search results
-
Select an element to see details and connected resource types.
-
Select a time series to open a preview panel where you can zoom in and out and interact with the time series.
-
Select an engineering diagram to search for data in a specific diagram.
-
On each tab with a resource type, you can filter how many linked elements you want to see:
- Select Directly linked + name of resource type to see data that are directly linked to the selected resource type.
- Select Linked + name of resource type to see data that are directly linked to the resource type and all subelements of the directly linked data.
-
Select Table to add and rearrange columns in the search result.
TippAdd the 3D availability column on the Assets tab to inspect the equipment's surroundings in contextualized 3D models.
-
Use the copy function to copy and paste a value into the search to further narrow the results.
If you can't search within an engineering diagram, first run diagram detect using the API endpoint or run it in the Create interactive engineering diagrams process.
Use the filters
Use the Common filters on the left panel to filter the result across all the data, and the resource-specific filters below to add filters for the specific resource types. You can add several values to each filter. Common results are marked as blue in the table, and resource-specific results are marked as green.
Filtering on metadata
In the Metadata filter, you'll find several keys, each typically with several values. If you select several values for the same key, these are treated with the OR
operation. For example:
Name=Pump123 OR Pump456
Values for different keys are treated with the AND
operation. For example:
Name=Pump123 OR Pump456 AND Description=Observation
Combining the Metadata filter with other common or resource-specific filters is treated with the AND
operation.
3D functionality
Use the 3D tab to see relevant 3D models. Select and drag to see the model in 360 view. Use the toolbar to slice, measure distance, emphasize selectable objects, and copy the URL.
