About Cognite InRobot
The features described in this section are currently in Beta and are only available to customers via the Early Adopter program. For more information and to sign up, visit the Early Adopter Group on the Cognite Hub.
The Cognite InRobot application works in sync with a robot to automate data collection and inspection. A robot connected to InRobot can perform:
- Autonomous operator rounds, also known as missions, for example, capturing infrared (IR) images of equipment.
- Autonomous scanning, for example, reading different types of gauges.
- Equipment monitoring, for example, scanning and looking for spills and leaks.

An operator managing InRobot can:
- Manage several robots.
- Create a robot work cycle.
- Plan, run, and evaluate robot missions.
- Collect, send, and store the necessary data to Cognite Data Fusion (CDF).
- Inspect small and hard-to-reach areas and equipment.
- Avoid hazardous environmental conditions and dangerous and repeatable actions.
The InRobot application provides real-time telemetry of the robot and collects different types of data from the robot, such as images, thermal images, and maps. This is stored in Cognite Data Fusion for further analysis. The data collected are available as image files and time series and stored in a graph database. With CDF, you can check and analyze the data and notify users if the robot collects data that's out of the ordinary.
