# Server requirements

> Hardware, software, and network requirements for installing the Studio for Petrel extractor.

You can install the extractor on a Windows physical server or a virtual machine on-premises alongside the Petrel environment.

## Memory

* Minimum: 8GB RAM / 100 GB storage.
* Recommended: 16GB RAM / 100 GB storage (intensive extractions / considerable amount of historical records).

## CPU

* Minimum: 4-core CPU.
* Recommended: 6-core CPU (intensive extractions / considerable amount of historical records).

## Software

* Supported version: Studio for Petrel 2020.
* Windows Server 2016 or later.
* Studio Runtime 2020.
* .NET Framework 4.8.0 or later.

## Network access

* User or service account with access to Studio for Petrel data repositories.
* A valid STUDIO\_RUNTIME client license, included in Studio for Petrel environment.
