# Server requirements

> Hardware and software requirements for running the OSDU extractor.

You can install the extractor on any physical server or virtual machine running Windows or Linux.

## Memory

* Minimum: 2GB RAM / 20 GB storage.
* Recommended: 8GB RAM / 80 GB storage.

## CPU

* Minimum: 2-core CPU.
* Recommended: 8-core CPU.

## Software

* OSDU Data Platform (as a data source).
* Optionally, OSDU Wellbore Domain Data Management Services (Wellbore-DDMS).

## Network access

* Valid credentials for connecting to the pertinent OSDU instance's API.
