# Cognite DB extractor

> Connect to databases and load data into Cognite Data Fusion (CDF) with the general-purpose DB extractor.

Run the extractors once for single extraction or set up regular runs to keep up with additions to the database tables. You can [load data incrementally](/cdf/integration/guides/extraction/db/db_setup#load-data-incrementally) if you only want to process new or updated rows since the last extraction.

The extractor is available as a Windows executable file or as a Docker container for Unix-like systems, such as Mac OS and Linux.
