# Data models

> These modules are examples of extensions of Cognite data models including CDM and IDM extensions.

## cdf\_cdm\_extension

This is an example of an extension of the Cognite core data model (CDM). This is a minimal example that does not contain 3D and annotation views. It's intended to be used as a starting point for creating a more complex extension.

## cdf\_cdm\_extension\_full

This is an example of an extension of the Cognite core data model (CDM). This is a complete extension of the entire CDM, including 3D and annotation views

## cdf\_idm\_extension

This is an example of an extension of the Cognite process industries data model (IDM). This is a minimal example that does not contain 3D and annotation views. It is intended to be used as a starting point for creating a more complex extension.

## cdf\_idm\_extension\_full

This is an example of an extension of the Cognite process industries data model (IDM). This is a complete extension of the entire IDM, including 3D and annotation views.
